Abstract:
Developing the communication skills of software engineering graduates to meet industry requirements is a challenge for educators. This study presents a project-based learning framework that promotes students’ communication skills in a software engineering project course. The questionnaire on self-efficacy for software development (CSESD) was designed for students’ self-assessment of their confidence in communication skills. Findings indicate that students’ CSESD increased significantly after the course ended. Educators can apply the designed framework to software development-related project courses. The CSESD questionnaire can be used to assess students' confidence in their communication skills and assist educators in preparing students’ readiness before graduation.
