This paper describes the model developed by authors whose intention was a formation of intellectual skills regarding the future teachers of mathematics. The study plans of physical and mathematical faculties within pedagogical universities of Ukraine are analyzed. The structure of intellectual skills among future teachers of mathematics in the process of professional training is determined. The authors propose a system of methodological approaches, principles and directions for improving the content, methods, forms and means of forming the intellectual skills for future teachers of mathematics in the professional training process.
