Abstract:
Smart cities are among the most important challenges of modern society, and members of Generation Z have an important role to play in developing new smart city technologies, due to their technological competence, adaptability, and innovation orientation. Previous research shows that Generation Z use smart city technologies in different ways, with their motivation varying depending on specific factors. On the other hand, new technologies are still not used sufficiently, and there is a low level of motivation for wider adoption among members of this generation. The aim of this research is to gain insight into the factors influencing the intention to use new smart city technologies among members of Generation Z. The research was conducted using a survey method and the questionnaire was developed according to a modified version of the UTAUT model for technology acceptance and use. The results were processed using correlation and multivariate statistical methods, while the theoretical framework was tested using the SEM model. This research has examined the intention to use new smart city technologies among Generation Z and contributed new insights to the existing scientific literature regarding the factors influencing the acceptance and intention to use new smart city technologies among Generation Z.
