Abstract:
This paper presents an applied case study evaluating the energy, economic, and environmental performance of an existing building using a structured energy management framework based on ISO 50001. By systematically assessing the current energy consumption, the study identifies opportunities for improving energy efficiency and informs the selection and implementation of appropriate technical measures. The analysis includes a baseline assessment of energy use, evaluation of potential interventions, and examination of the effects of implemented measures. The results demonstrate that the application of integrated energy efficiency measures – such as the replacement of windows and doors, wall insulation, lighting modernization, and substitution of the heating source – can lead to substantial reductions in energy consumption, operational costs, and environmental impact. The findings indicate that an integrated energy management approach can support enhancing building energy efficiency, promoting sustainable operation, and reducing the environmental footprint of energy consumption.
