Abstract:
This paper explores the role and utilization of smart technologies within professional environments, focusing on employees in selected Slovak educational institutions. Through a survey, this study examines how frequently and in what ways these technologies are used, how they are perceived in terms of benefits and risks, and how trust and professional characteristics influence their adoption. The findings reveal that smart technologies are widely recognized and adopted, with most respondents associating them with greater work efficiency, improved comfort, and higher living standards. However, the study also highlights ongoing concerns regarding data protection, privacy, and potential overreliance on technology. Many users still maintain traditional practices, such as retaining physical copies of documents, which underscores the importance of building trust and ensuring robust security measures alongside technological innovation. The results suggest that while smart technologies are powerful tools for improving work processes and supporting organizational development, their successful and sustainable integration requires addressing security challenges, maintaining user-friendly functionality, and fostering closer collaboration between technology providers and end users. By balancing innovation with practicality and user needs, organizations can leverage the benefits of smart technologies while minimizing their risks, ultimately supporting more efficient and adaptive work environments.
