Abstract:
In many subjects and countries, students need to be able to think critically. The Basics of Science course uses the Activity-Based-Lesson Learn-Reflection (ALLR) learning approach and is improved by the HTM5 Package (H5P) and online flipped classrooms. These tools help future science teachers build this skill. The goal of this study is to see how well this method works to enhance critical thinking skills. A pre-experimental research with one-group pre-test-post-test design was conducted with 46 students from the Science Education program in East Java, across three campuses. The SIDIA UNESA LMS now has the ALLR learning model and H5P interactive media thanks to Moodle. The Facione Essential Skills Test was intended to measure how well someone could think critically. For both descriptive and inferential data analysis, the Wilcoxon nonparametric test and effect size were used. The poll showed that most students got better at thinking critically. There was a correlation between the growth of critical thinking and the use of H5P-assisted ALLR learning. However, the study has limitations due to its limited sample size and variable content. Future research should focus on developing a more organized H5P guide and including larger samples to enhance applicability.
