Abstract:

This study investigated the influence of non-monetary motivational factors on the dedication and performance of both teaching and non-teaching staff in a higher education institution in the Philippines. During the 2023–2024 academic year, a quantitative-descriptive study design involved 93 teaching staff and 24 non-teaching individuals from a public institution. Data were gathered via a verified and reliability-tested survey instrument. The data revealed that while training and job stability were highly esteemed, recognition and incentive programs, job performance, job commitment, and awards received exceptionally high ratings. Aside from work security, which exhibited significant variation across age groups, no discernible differences were observed in rewards, recognition, job security, training, job dedication, or job performance among profile characteristics. Awards and recognition were found to have a strong positive correlation with job devotion. No significant association was found between job performance and the stability of employment, commitment, or rewards and recognition. Employment security shown a robust correlation with job performance, while training demonstrated a significant correlation with both job commitment and job performance. No discernible association was found between job performance and job devotion. The report advocates for regular evaluations of recognition and award programs to guarantee fairness and efficacy. Organizations should incorporate training, job security, and rewards into a holistic staff development program that aligns with the organization's objectives and core values. Additional research is necessary to examine the intricate relationship between professional success and commitment.

Keywords – Recognition and rewards, job security, training, development, employees’ growth.
