Wajeeh System: A Smart Parking Management System

Abstract:
As the number of car users grows, the demand for parking spaces also increases correspondingly. The length process of searching for a parking space wastes time, consume fuel, and contributes significantly to traffic congestions, that may lead to dangerous accidents. To address this issue, this study focuses in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) to propose smart parking management system. Wajeeh system was developed to assist drivers searching for a parking space by providing real-time parking status updates. The system uses sensors to detect available parking space and sends this information to database, which relayed to a mobile application that drivers can access. After developing Wajeeh system based on users’ requirements, the system underwent extensive, including unit testing, integration system and usability system. The results demonstrate that the Wajeeh system assists users to obtain accurate parking using Google map through the system and it significantly improving their parking experience.
