Abstract:
The objective of this research is to ascertain the concept of value in the interpretation of failure as an expression of disappointment among investors. This research employed a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach. The interpretive paradigm was employed as the research paradigm, and the data collection techniques utilized in this research were observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of informants was nine. The research results demonstrated that the meaning of failure can be understood in terms of two key indicators: Loss and the failure to meet expectations. In the context of stock investments in the capital market, losses are defined as undervaluing a stock relative to the intrinsic value of the company's shares. Failure to meet expectations, however, is not solely a matter of nominal loss borne by investors. Rather, it is a complex phenomenon that involves a range of dimensions, both material and non-material, and is shaped by a combination of elements, including intuitive and emotional elements.
