Abstract:
Organizations need competent workers if they are to maintain consistency, improve performance, stay in business, and foster competition. Thus, this study investigates how ethical and boundary-spanning leadership (B-SL) affect work effectiveness via good corporate governance (GCG). Using a Likert scale questionnaire, research data was collected from 420 people working in Indonesia's banking, commerce, services, and investment sectors. Using descriptive, correlational, and common method biases (CMB) to enable structural equation modeling (SEM), analysis results demonstrated that B-SL, ethical leadership, and GCG have an effect on employee work effectiveness; B-SL and ethical leadership impact GCG; and GCG mediates the effect of B-SL and ethical leadership on employee work effectiveness. This evidence advances a fresh new empirical novelty concerning the impact of B-SL and ethical leadership on the effectivity of workers through GCG. B-SL has less of an indirect (mediated) impact on work effectiveness than ethical leadership. It is in line with the idea that GCG and effectivity are directly impacted by ethical leadership. As a result, B-SL has a lower direct or indirect impact on employee work effectiveness than ethical leadership. Therefore, ethical leadership must take precedence over B-SL when enhancing GCG and employees' work effectiveness.
