Abstract:

This research proposes an integrative learning approach based on the connected model, to train several thinking skills, which are relevant to the requirements of the 21st century. The Connected Creative Problem Solving (CCPS) model was designed to enhance science process skills, science literacy skills, argumentation skills, critical thinking skills, and creative problem-solving. This study is part of educational design research and focuses on presenting a feasibility test of the validity (relevance and consistency) of the CCPS model. The validity has been confirmed through a focus group discussion attended by educational experts and practitioners. The results show that the CCPS model is feasible for implementation, as demonstrated by the validity test, which yielded highly valid and reliable criteria with a percentage of agreement ≥ 75%. The research is unique in its approach to developing integrative learning that can train five thinking skills in a sequential pattern, starting with basic and progressing to higher-level thinking skills.
